Clock strikes 12.

There's always that one man who never fails to greet me on the midnight of my birthday. A friend that no matter how far we are from each other, he'll always make sure to greet me on my special day! 4 years after school, I only saw him once and in that span of time, in 365 days a year, we only communicate ONCE. And that's on our birthday! Yes, we share the same birthday. Since high school until college, we celebrated our birthday together. In my home, my debut, even once at a hospital when we were students and both on duty. It was usually unplanned but we always end up celebrating together. I feel like we're twins whenever January 24 comes because before I met him, I felt weird that some people have ka-birthdays that they know and i don't. Now, I know I'm not celebrating alone, I know someone whose turning a year older like I am. With our lack of communication, I was surprised to have received a text message from him, his usual mocking greeting but I'm glad he still remembers me.
So to you Dantes, Happy Happy 24th Birthday! May all of our wishes and prayers be granted by our dear Lord and hope to see you again! Cheers to the awesome 24 years of our lives and here's a piece of cake!x

Birthday Wishlist

So, I recently figured out that making a wishlist really does help! It doesn't just make me happy because I get what I want but I also save my family and friends the time and effort to look for the nicest gift to give me! (If they ever plan to hand over one! LOL!) I made this Christmas Wishlist back in 2011 and I noticed how everything on the list is very materialistic. HAHA! I won't deny it, I'm a girl who loves shoes, bags, clothes and all kinds of stuff and I know I will never fag out of it. This time, my wishlist comes in 3 categories that also exemplifies 3 of my alter egos. First off, want list for my "Materialist" self. haha! Second is for the "Wanderer" and third is the "Metaphysical" desires of my heart. I'm sure mahaba-haba ang first part. HAHA! Lemme start!

For the "MATERIALIST"

Okay, medyo nahirapan pa ako dito kasi everything I want isn't budget friendlyHAHA! Surely, I want a YSL Cabas ChYc Tote Bag and a Charlotte Olympia Spider-Embroidered Slipper but .. do I need to say it? they're too costly! I'm trying to live by the "Don't spend more than you earn" rule this year, so..STILL no YSLs and Charlottes for me! (lucky pals and family, I don't want you to pay out more money than what you make too! haha!)
  • FOREVER 21 Shopping spree! - Since we're talking about thinking mainly about physical things, paki dala nalang ako sa F21. HAHA!
  • CELEBRACION by SUELAS - I've been waiting for these kind of flats all my li-iiifeee! Last 2011, I wanted a pair of Yosi Samra, I still want them now BUT can you blame me? I can't help but fall in love with this collection! Patty Laurel designed this line and 100% of her profit is for CHARITY. What can I say but Job Well Done!! (slow clapping) HAHA! Read More about it here and here.
I like Pierre the most!

It's for a good cause actually so It's not being a materialist at all!
For the "WANDERER"

J.R.R. Tolkien said: "Not all those who wander are lost"... Some are just really nosy and some are just plainly lula! Hahah! Joke! I've always loved going to different places and It is my pie in the sky to travel for a living. So, In preparation for that dream, I need these things ready on my travel bag!

  • BELLE DE JOUR PLANNER - I love collecting different kinds of notebooks & journals and  I admit, I don't write at 'em everyday like how I've planned to! In my mind, I wanted to write my daily ideas, memories or any other mental impressions but I don't know why  find it hard to do! I'm the kind of person who writes her reminders on a calendar posted on her closet's door and her to-do list on a post-it adhesive notes in the mirror! HAHA! So, since this BDJ planner contains every feature a makakalimutin person needs, I want this! My calendar, reminders and random thoughts can be in one notebook!  Maybe I'll be more inspired (and organized) to write my memoirs too! =)

  • SOMEWHERE SPECIAL - I've been wanting to do something incomparable on my 24th birthday because it's my lucky number. I originally want to TRAVEL, have fun, take loads of pictures and make an FB album named "24th on the 24th". HAHA! Bizarre as it may seem pero walang pakialamanan. HAHA! Sad to say, I cannot push Plan A through and worse, I don't have a Plan B! Grr! Now, it's 15 days before I turn 24 and I still don't know how I'll celebrate that day. Dear Santa of Birthdays, Please don't make me stay at home and cook dinner. It's either a far cry from the past 23 yrs or no celebration at all! I'm not demanding here (defensive tone.lol), I've never asked for a party or a Europe trip or the likes..I just don't want dinners at home and coffee shops anymore. I just want my 24th to be memorable and aberrant!

"METAPHYSICAL"

This is my all time preferred gift. The only thing I've been longing and praying for is for the GOOD HEALTH and SAFETY of my family and loved ones. When I was a kid, my whispered wish before blowing out birthday candles is for my family to be complete. Now, I understand that the answer to this yearning is not literally being with them in presence, but having them healthy and sound even if we're all miles apart and be together in many other ways. If they're sick and in pain, how can they enjoy life with you? When my dad and my sister died, the reality set in..we will never ever be complete again. I kept thinking, If only I had prayed for their well-being, their lives might as well be extended in time. So to those of you reading this, aside from caring and expressing adoration, pray for the wellness of your kin and pals, because it is the best present you can ever give them and to yourself.

Beyond doubt, there's no greater gift in this life but life itself. Take care of it and stop wasting your time hating it for being too short! =) Happy New Year y'all!

How many other things are we missing?

“A man sat at a metro station in Washington DC and started to play the violin; it was a cold January morning. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, since it was rush hour, it was calculated that 1,100 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.

Three minutes went by, and a middle aged man noticed there was musician playing. He slowed his pace, and stopped for a few seconds, and then hurried up to meet his schedule.

A minute later, the violinist received his first dollar tip: a woman threw the money in the till and without stopping, and continued to walk.

A few minutes later, someone leaned against the wall to listen to him, but the man looked at his watch and started to walk again. Clearly he was late for work.

The one who paid the most attention was a 3 year old boy. His mother tagged him along, hurried, but the kid stopped to look at the violinist. Finally, the mother pushed hard, and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. All the parents, without exception, forced them to move on.

In the 45 minutes the musician played, only 6 people stopped and stayed for a while. About 20 gave him money, but continued to walk their normal pace. He collected $32. When he finished playing and silence took over, no one noticed it. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the most talented musicians in the world. He had just played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, on a violin worth $3.5 million dollars.

Two days before his playing in the subway, Joshua Bell sold out at a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100.

This is a real story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste, and priorities of people.

The outlines were: in a commonplace environment at an inappropriate hour: Do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize the talent in an unexpected context?

One of the possible conclusions from this experience could be: If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the best music ever written, how many other things are we missing?”

Please share if you took the time to read this :)

Message from the Ambulance Service

We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory. If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't know who to call. Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? Hence this 'ICE' (In Case of Emergency) Campaign.
The concept of 'ICE' is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations. As mobile phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name 'ICE' ( In Case Of Emergency). The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents there were always mobile phones with patients but they didn't know which number to call.
He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose.
In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialing the number you have stored as 'ICE'. Please forward this.
It won't take too many 'forwards' before everybody will know about this. It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest.
For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc

PLEASE PASS THIS AROUND AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE AS THIS CAN HELP IN AN EMERGENCY
